The 3rd Annual Aidan's Ride out of Indian Larry Motorcycles was June 11th. 

Because of unpredictable weather, it was kickstands up at 11 am for a ride around Brooklyn with the after party at the Indian Larry Motorcycles showroom and garage. 

The ride was to the BQE to the Belt Parkway to the Cross Island to the Whitestone Expressway to Grand Central to the BQE and back to the shop 70 N 15th street, Brooklyn NY 11222.

The ride was hosted by Bobby and Elisa Seeger, owners of Indian Larry Motorcycles to raise funds to help children and families battling ALD - Adrenoleukodystrophy, a childhood disease that can be treated if it is diagnosed at birth. 

Their son, Aidan was a fighter in life, loved motorcycles and had a posse of friends cheering for him when he was diagnosed with ALD at age six in 2011. He lost the battle in 2012. The Aidan Jack Seeger Foundation was established in his honor to help families, to raise awareness of the disease and to press for legislation to require newborn screening for ALD.

Diva Dawn's Coney Island Polar Bear Plunge in New York Post

Old School Biker “Diva Dawn” Santucci was true to her word! She took the plunge into the freezing Atlantic on New Year's Day wearing tassels and a thong, after reaching a $5,000 fundraising goal on New Year's Eve for 7-year-old Aidan Jack Seeger, Jr. who is hospitalized with a rare brain disease.

You may know Aidan’s parents, Bobby and Elisa Seeger of Indian Larry Motorcycles, Brooklyn, NY, but what you may not know is that "Indian Larry" Desmedt (1949-2004) was an active member of the Coney Island Polar Bear Club and this event continues to be an annual tradition for the Seeger family and friends.

Aidan is currently in Duke University Children’s Hospital. June 2011, he was diagnosed with a rare brain disease called Adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD). ALD is a rare, inherited disorder that untreated leads to progressive brain damage, failure of the adrenal glands and eventually death.

Dawn had originally planned to participate in the New Years Day festivities with Coney Island Polar Bears and then decided to add a twist by raising funds for Aidan. The more money she raised… the less clothing she would wear! When the $5,000 mark was met on New Year’s Eve, her outfit (or lack of) was set in stone.


Members of Aidan’s immediate family and friends came down to cheer her on and also joined her in running headlong into the waves. On exiting the ocean Aidan’s Grandfather, Ed, literally gave Dawn the Indian Larry hoodie-off-his-back thanking her for her brave efforts and commitment.


As much as it looked like fun and games, she was serious about delivering what she promised to all of her supporters for Aidan’s fundraiser. Her enthusiasm was contagious, which resulted her image going viral in news stories around the world.

The Indian Larry Legacy lives on via Bobby & Elisa Seegers, the owners of Indian Larry Motorcycles in Brooklyn, NY. Now they are also fighting to keep their 6-year old son Aidan alive.

Friends have formed a posse to round up a bone marrow donor for Aidan. You can follow their progress and give your support at: "Aidan Has A Posse!" 

Two weeks ago, Aidan was diagnosed with a rare brain disease called Adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD).

As a first step in the fight, he is in dire need of a bone marrow transplant and his 4-year old sister is not a match. So a massive search for a donor is underway.

To find out if you might be a match, visit http://www.marrow.org/ to find a bone marrow drive or donor center, or to request a mail-in testing kit. 

Donor testing consists of a simple saliva swab for healthy adults ages 18 to 60. 

A $25 donation helps cover the cost of the lab exams needed to determine if you're a match for Aidan or someone else.

Aidan is a first-grader, who likes listening to the band Buckcherry with his dad and riding his Razor scooter. He has huge blue eyes and a smile that is contagious. He is full of personality and laughter.

English Don "Old Crew Reunion Run" NYC, March 26, 2011

New York, New York! A big reunion is in the works for March 26th when English Don returns to NYC for an Old Crew Reunion Run.



"For anyone wanting to join the run in Brooklyn....We will be stopping off to film with Paul Cox and Bob Seeger Jr. Bob has thrown out the welcome mat at Indian Larry motorcycles to gather there early afternoon. The pack will leave there at 2pm sharp. Those riding from the start, stay tuned for Queens assembly and gathering point," English Don told friends Saturday night, as he prepared to embark on his return trip to America.

BROOKLYN, New York - The Indian Larry Motorcycles Grease Monkey Block Pary is happening Today at 400 Union Avenue in Brooklyn. An opportunity to see again Larry’s bikes and original shop memorabilia, including his famous custom King Of Choppers throne.

The event includes 7 bands, well known builders, Sword Swallower “Fredini” of Coney Island Fame, live ice sculpting and food. The party is an annual reunion of Indian Larry's friends and fans.

Blast From the Past: 2003 Indian Larry Interview

Indian Larry is a legend in the motorcycle world, his motorcycles are timeless and unique. Five year's after his unfortunate stuntriding accident, going into Daytona Bike Week 2010, most of us are giving a thought to Indian Larry. Daytona was one of his favorite rallies.

He was a skilled machinist, metal-sculptor, master motorcycle mechanic and visionary. He won countless custom shows and put his total attention and focus into everything he touched. Larry's inspiration came from the motorcycle clubs of 50s-60s, Ed "Big Daddy" Roth and the legendary Kenny Howard better known as Von Dutch. Larry originated his own style blending the hard-core motorcycle, classic chopper and hotrod race bike to form a graceful piece of rolling art. For over 30 years he built custom motorcycles. His talents and beliefs transcended the OUT OF THE BOX theories of the day -- He used his brilliant imagination to build old school choppers even better then the builders of the 60's.

Don V: Who was the one person that influenced you the most?

Indian Larry: Ed Roth was my biggest influence; I met him in the 60's. I went to California as a starry eyed kid to try to work with him. But unfortunately he told me "you have no California experience kid!" So he sent me off to work for a great car painter by the name of Larry Watson. I did prep and primer work for Larry and then finally returned to NY still in pursuit of my dream! But the influence of Ed Roth still stuck with me because Big Daddy was the type who did not worry about what others thought he just built what he liked and that is exactly what I do. I don't care about what others have to say and now most of the bikes I build range in price from $65,000 to $100,000. I do things my way from concept to completion.

Special Commemorative Indian Larry Edition

It’s been five years since the custom motorcycle scene lost one of their greatest talents. Indian Larry was the man, and the story of his life was as unique as the motorcycles he built in his Brooklyn shop.

Larry lived life on his terms and touched many people as he blazed a trail across the chopper culture. Now, to mark this five year anniversary, Indian Larry Motorcycles and Cycle Source Magazine have joined forces to release a commemorative issue in his honor titled “Five Long Years.”
